PRESIDENT, TFORCE FREIGHT, RICHMOND
Virginia Business// August 29, 2022//
Since becoming president of TForce Freight in May 2021, Hoelting has focused on people, equipment and facilities, including a program in which dockworkers can earn their commercial driver’s licenses while having their tuition and wages covered.
A subsidiary of Canadian transport company TFI International Inc., TForce earned more than $3 billion in revenue in fiscal 2021 and has more than 12,000 employees across the country, including 800 in Virginia. TForce plans to purchase 1,400 new tractors by the end of 2022, adding to its 6,700-plus tractors and 22,000 trailers.
Hoelting is a member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s mid-Atlantic board. He has an accounting degree from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree from William & Mary. For his first job, in middle school, Hoelting de-tasseled corn in Nebraska; it’s no surprise his favorite sports team is the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His beverage of choice is also corn-fueled: bourbon.
