President and CEO, The Geller Law Group, Fairfax
Virginia Business// June 29, 2023//
Thirteen years ago, Rebecca Geller was a corporate lawyer who wanted more flexibility to work remotely so she could balance her work and family life.
That aspiration led her in 2011 to found The Geller Law Group, a law firm dedicated to helping women like her balance parenting and their careers. Today, the firm employs 32 women and offers a wide range of legal services to more than 17,000 clients across the Washington, D.C., metro area. Employees can meet with clients at the firm’s Fairfax or D.C. offices, but otherwise work remotely.
Geller has been widely recognized for her leadership and community service.
In 2015, the mother of three advocated for a state law guaranteeing moms a legal right to breastfeed in public. Geller and her kids stood next to then-Gov. Terry McAuliffe when he signed the bill into law. During the pandemic, she collected more than $100,000 in donations to support families in need through the Lorton Community Action Center food pantry. This year, she received the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award from the National Association of Women Business Owners of Greater DC Chapter.
Geller also serves on the Democratic Party of Virginia’s legal steering committee, serves on the board of Capital Camps, a nonprofit Jewish summer camp, and is former co-president of Congregation Adat Reyim in Springfield.
