Before becoming senior executive vice president in 2016, Ritchey was national director of acquisitions and development and had overseen Massachusetts-based Boston Properties’ Washington, D.C., office since 1998. Responsible for all business development, leasing and marketing in the D.C. area, he also directly oversees similar activities nationally. The firm is the largest publicly traded developer, owner and manager of Class-A office properties in the nation and manages Reston Town Center, among other prominent developments.
Ritchey joined Boston Properties in 1980 and led its expansion into one of the dominant real estate firms in the Washington metropolitan area. Before joining the company, he was one of the leading commercial real estate brokers in the D.C. region for Coldwell Banker.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Naval Postgraduate School, Ritchey is board president of the Spanish Education Development Center and a founding member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties’ Northern Virginia chapter.
