Peters has been with the VSCPA, a statewide professional association for CPAs, since 1997 and leads the organization’s efforts in the areas of strategy, member engagement, national and external relations, and diversity, equity and inclusion. With 27 employees, the VSCPA recorded $5.8 million in revenue for fiscal year 2021.
In May, the VSCPA Educational Foundation hit its $100,000 goal to launch a college scholarship supporting underrepresented students planning to become CPAs. Last year, the VSCPA launched its mental health series with a Mental Health Virtual Summit to support the mental well-being of CPAs.
Peters has degrees from the University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University and sits on VCU’s accounting advisory board.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED: I learned during the pandemic that I needed to schedule time to meet with each member of our team to stay connected and hear firsthand how they were doing.
