A human resources, finance and operations executive with a track record of generating growth while transforming culture to deliver on business strategy, Clay has experience with acquisition integration, strategy creation, talent assessment and development, organizational design, recruiting and compensation.
Clay began working for Mercer in 2011 and is responsible for its human resources and operations work in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and the Carolinas. Before that, she was a senior vice president of global human resources for Encore Capital Group and a vice president and head of HR for Capital One Financial Corp. She’s also a former board chair of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and still serves on the chamber’s board of directors.
Clay earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech. Early in her 11-year career in customer relations and human resources at Capital One, Clay received her MBA from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business.
