With more than two decades of experience in public accounting, Ellenbogen is BDO’s assurance regional managing partner for the Atlantic region and leads the company’s public sector practice. He also serves on the company’s U.S. board of directors.
Having joined the firm in 1997, Ellenbogen has worked extensively with clients from several industries, including biotechnology, telecommunications, media, manufacturing, education, publishing and professional services. He consults with clients on a variety of accounting and operational issues, including mergers and acquisitions.
He is the liaison between the BDO Greater Washington, D.C., audit practice and many local business associations and chambers of commerce. He’s also responsible for the local audit practice, which includes the software and technology, government contracting, and private equity group practices, as well as growth strategies for these groups.
Ellenbogen earned his undergraduate degree in business and his postgraduate diploma in accounting from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
