Hartman is responsible for executing and promoting the accounting firm’s overall strategic plan, growth and direction, as well as overseeing its day-to-day administration and financial management. Brown Edwards has 500 employees and reported $70 million in revenue for fiscal year 2021.
Hartman, who joined the multistate accounting firm in 1986, has said in recent years that one of his main objectives is to continue growing the firm through acquisitions, such as Mitchell Wiggins, a Richmond CPA firm Brown Edwards purchased in November 2021.
Hartman earned degrees from Glenville State College and James Madison University and serves on the board of Feeding America Southwest Virginia. In his spare time, he collects classic and special interest cars and attends car events.
