An alumnus of William & Mary, Wallig describes himself as “a people-first leader, who believes deeply that diverse perspectives produce better outcomes.” He has championed the Chicago-based global accounting firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and has more than 25 years of management consulting experience in both the public and private sectors, with personal and professional experience spanning five continents. Wallig joined Grant Thornton in 2005 and was appointed managing partner of the Washington, D.C., office in 2018. Before that, he worked for Accenture and CGI.
Wallig is a member of the boards of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the Virginia Society of CPAs. He is vice chair of the Business Analytics Advisory Board at William & Mary and treasurer of the Global Fund for Children.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED: I gave up honking in traffic years ago. I’ve come to accept the person in front of me holding up traffic probably has all sorts of pressures and stresses. They don’t need one more from me.
FAVORITE VACATION SPOT: Williamsburg. My wife was born and raised there, and we have a family retreat on the York River we visit as much as possible.
