DiCroce has led the Hampton Roads Community Foundation since 2012, but before that, she spent more than three decades in higher education.

As president of Tidewater Community College for 14 years, she led a decade of expansion at TCC. She also served nine years as president of Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville and has taught at the University of Virginia, William & Mary, and Old Dominion University.

The largest grant and scholarship provider in southeastern Virginia, Hampton Roads Community Foundation has an asset base exceeding $500 million. It’s the second largest of Virginia’s 30 community foundations and the 57th largest out of roughly 750 in the nation.

Four times a year, the foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations. In March, more than $1.9 million in Vibrant Places and Environmental Stewardship competitive community grants were awarded to 10 recipients.

DiCroce serves on several boards, including Reinvent Hampton Roads, RVA757 Connects and Virginia Beach Vision. She served three terms on Norfolk State University’s board of visitors. Gov. Glenn Youngkin appointed her to the State Board for Community Colleges in July.
