With a nuclear industry career spanning four decades, Mignogna has served as president and CEO of Framatome and its predecessor, Areva Inc., since 2014. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Drexel University and his MBA from the University of Lynchburg.
Framatome, a nuclear reactor business, moved its North American headquarters to Lynchburg from Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2018. The company designs, manufactures and installs components, fuel and instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power plants and offers a full range of reactor services. It’s owned by Électricité de France, Assystem and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.
Last year, Framatome launched an independent subsidiary, Framatome U.S. Government Solutions LLC, which focuses on nuclear energy initiatives and projects for federal agencies. (Mignogna chairs its board.) And this June, Framatome announced the acquisition of Cyberwatch, experts in vulnerability management and compliance control.
Mignogna sits on the executive committee of the Nuclear Energy Institute’s board of directors and chairs the National D-Day Memorial Foundation’s board of directors.
