Högberg became president of Volvo Penta North America in May. He joined the Volvo Group in 1994, holding a broad range of leading positions, in areas such as digital services, retail development and aftermarket sales. Prior to becoming president, he served as senior vice president for services and solutions, digital, and information technology for Mack and Volvo Trucks North America.
Although Högberg was born in Sweden and has lived in Australia and China, he considers the U.S. his home. He holds degrees from IHM Business School and Henley Management College.
With 1,832 employees worldwide and 111 in Virginia, Volvo Penta is a leading supplier of engines and power systems for boats and industrial applications. Chesapeake has served as home to the company’s operations in the Americas for nearly three decades. Volvo Penta of the Americas also operates an R&D engine test facility in nearby Suffolk.
