With an eye toward cutting health care costs by bringing together the people, processes and technology that focus on preventive care, Blackley co-founded health care tech company Evolent Health in 2011 with fellow Harvard alums Frank Williams and Tom Peterson.
Four years later, Evolent went public on the New York Stock Exchange. Blackley, who had served as the company’s president since its founding, became CEO in 2020.
Evolent has been expanding, acquiring Magellan Specialty Health in January from Centene, for approximately $660 million in cash and stock at closing. The specialty benefit management organization focuses on managing cost and quality in the areas of radiology, musculoskeletal, physical medicine and genetics.
Prior to starting Evolent Health, Seth was executive director of corporate development at the Advisory Board, a global research, technology and consulting firm. He started his career as an analyst in McKinsey’s Washington, D.C., office.
Blackley earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina. He serves on the board of directors for the Capital Area Food Bank.
