As Bon Secours’ Hampton Roads market president since October 2021, Davis-Hagens oversees nearly 5,000 employees and operations at three hospitals in Franklin, Newport News and Portsmouth, as well as other facilities.
Davis-Hagens previously served as president of Cincinnati’s The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health, part of the national Bon Secours Mercy Health system. She earned her MBA from Plymouth State College and has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Salem State College.
Davis-Hagens is chair of the American Heart Association Heart Walk Hampton Roads.
HOW I CHOSE MY CAREER: I wanted to be a teacher and a nun. When I was a sophomore in high school, I was asked to be a nursing assistant at a skilled nursing facility. The job sealed it for me, but my mom might have said something different. My Halloween costume when I was three or four was a nurse. My mother kept that costume and brought it out when I decided to pursue nursing.
