In December 2021, Frantz’s venture capital firm launched and closed a new $215 million investment fund, its third, which offers $10 million to $50 million to qualified growing businesses. The firm, which Frantz co-founded with Kevin Robbins in 2009, added former Perspecta CEO Mac Curtis last year as a venture fellow, after Peraton Inc. bought the defense contractor in early 2021.
Blue Delta has made 24 investments in growth-stage companies that serve the U.S. federal government, primarily in the technology sector, in return for non-controlling ownership positions.
Additionally, Frantz sits on the board of ASGN Inc., which provides IT and professional services, and previously sat on the board of CRSA Holdings Inc., a government IT solutions provider, which General Dynamics bought in 2018.
A graduate in history and political science at Allegheny College, Frantz went on to earn both a law degree and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Early in his career, he served as associate director of the White House’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs under President George H.W. Bush. He later worked as economic and technology policy adviser to former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge.
