Bringing more than 25 years of experience in banking to the table, Johnson just completed two years as head of greater Washington, D.C., and Virginia operations for Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc.

In addition to working to grow PNC’s banking business, Johnson strives to strengthen the region’s communities. Over the past three years, the PNC Foundation has donated $1.1 million to organizations based in the Washington, D.C., region addressing racial equity through economic empowerment, education and entrepreneurship. The recipients were the Academy of Hope, a public charter school for adults; GOODProjects, a nonprofit that helps families out of poverty; and FSC First/Prince George’s Financial Services Corp., which assists small and minority-owned businesses. “PNC is committed to driving real change in areas in which we can make the greatest impact,” Johnson said in a statement.

A graduate of James Madison University, Johnson held positions at Bank of America Corp. and GE Capital before coming to PNC in 2005.

Ranked No. 178 on the Fortune 500, PNC has assets of $557 billion. In 2021, PNC closed on the $11.5 billion acquisition of BBVA USA, making PNC the fifth largest bank in the country at the time.
