Boasting more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Bentley has served as president and CEO of Northwest Federal Credit Union since 2017.

Bentley came to Northwest Federal from Florida’s Achieva Credit Union in 2014 to work as senior vice president of lending. During his career, Bentley held leadership roles at several credit unions and banking institutions and worked with the National Credit Union Administration to restore profitability to troubled credit unions. He holds a finance degree from Georgia Southern University.

The fourth largest credit union in Virginia, Northwest Federal serves more than 260,000 members. In 2021, the credit union had assets of approximately $4.35 billion.

At the beginning of the last school year, Northwest Federal’s charitable foundation donated 60,000 supplies to local schools. In 2021, the foundation also gave $105,000 in scholarships to students and $20,000 to Northern Virginia Community College’s emergency relief funds for students. “An unexpected expense can happen to anyone and it should not derail a student’s ability to reach their academic goals,” Bentley said in a statement.
