In June, the company formerly known as NCI Information Systems Inc. rebranded as Empower AI, taking the name of the artificial intelligence platform it launched in 2020. More than 75% of the company’s clients have adopted the platform, which it says has accounted for more than $1.5 billion worth of work. Empower AI reported more than $251 million in revenue in fiscal 2021, and in July, it opened an office in Henrico County and expects to add about 150 jobs.

A graduate of Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, Dillahay joined the company as CEO in 2016 and previously held executive roles at CACI International and Lockheed Martin.

BEST ADVICE FOR OTHERS: Work as hard as you possibly can and avoid the gossip train. When someone around you gets promoted, celebrate it and work harder. Keep learning and sharpening your skills and you will be rewarded in the long run.

NEW LIFE EXPERIENCE: Last year I completed my sacraments and joined the Catholic church.

WHAT I’VE LEARNED: I’ve learned to focus on what I can control and to make decisions. You can always correct a mistake. You can’t correct indecision.
