Federal Contractors/Technology: JOHN GOODMAN

Goodman joined Accenture in 1998 and has held several leadership roles at the Fortune 500 company, including serving as managing director of its defense and intelligence portfolio. He’s led AFS, an information technology federal contractor and wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture, since late 2017.

A former associate professor at Harvard Business School, Goodman also spent five years working for the federal government, including as the Department of Defense’s deputy undersecretary for industrial affairs and installations.

In July 2021, AFS won a $729 million contract to consolidate the Army’s enterprise resource planning systems.

Goodman is an alumnus of Middlebury College and Harvard University, where he earned his master’s degree and Ph.D. He is a board member of the Atlantic Council and serves as co-chair of its GeoTech Commission. He also serves on the board of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, as well as the executive committee of the Professional Services Council. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
