Federal Contractors/Technology: TIMOTHY J. ‘TIM’ McBRIDE

When Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd., or ST Engineering, announced its new North American president in October 2021, group President and CEO Vincent Chong leaned on McBride’s credentials, which include more than 30 years at multinational companies and in the public sector.

An Eastern Michigan University alum, McBride started his career as an aide to then-Vice President George H.W. Bush. He held several positions in Bush’s presidential administration before switching to the corporate world, where he worked in director roles at Sunoco and what’s now DaimlerChrysler. McBride later served as senior vice president for government relations for United Technologies Corp., helping secure appropriations for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. More recently, he served in the same role for Raytheon Technologies Corp.

ST Engineering works in the defense, smart cities, aerospace and public security sectors, and has operated in the U.S. since 2001. Its U.S. operations account for a quarter of its revenue and include a workforce of 7,000 people, the company’s largest outside of Singapore. In March, ST Engineering completed its acquisition of Tennessee-based transportation solutions firm TransCore Partners LLC for $2.68 billion in cash.
