Hanson served as president and CEO of the Fortune 100 provider of information technology and professional staffing services firm until January, when he handed over the president’s role to Rand Blazer, former president of subsidiary Apex Systems LLC. Hanson retained his status as CEO of ASGN, which reported $4 billion in 2021 revenue, up 14.5% from the previous year.

A graduate of Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University, Hanson migrated ASGN’s headquarters from California to Henrico County in 2020, the year after he was appointed CEO. Before joining the parent company, he started as a corporate controller at Apex Systems in 1998 and was its chief financial officer when ASGN acquired the company in 2012.

In June, ASGN announced it would acquire Waltham, Massachusetts-based GlideFast Consulting LLC for $350 million in cash. The company will become part of Apex Consulting.

Hanson serves on the board of Tech’s Pamplin School of Business as well as the university’s Apex Center for Entrepreneurs.
