In high school, Mengucci focused on music. He was one of two students from New York state chosen to play in the 1980 McDonald’s All-American High School Band and he also played drums at Carnegie Hall.
But his father suggested a more stable career, so Mengucci earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science at Clarkson University and an MBA from Syracuse University.
CACI, a Fortune 500 professional services and information technology company with more than 22,000 employees worldwide, relocated its corporate headquarters from Arlington to Reston in 2021. Mengucci has led the firm since July 2019, having spent the previous decade as its chief operating officer. He previously worked for Lockheed Martin.
CACI reported $1.58 billion revenue in the third quarter of fiscal 2022, up from $1.55 billion for the same period in 2021. Contract awards for the third quarter of fiscal 2022 totaled $1.2 billion, about 45% of which was new business, the company reported in April. In July, CACI won a $557.8 million Navy task order to modernize sensors and software.
