Ipsen was hired as higher education tech company Ellucian’s head in 2017, after 25 years in Silicon Valley, where she worked in executive positions for Oracle, Microsoft and Cisco Systems. She has also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Acer America and Hitachi Data Systems. A University of Virginia alumna, Ipsen moved back to the commonwealth when she took over leadership of Ellucian. She also studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Jordan.
Ipsen remained head of Ellucian after it was acquired in 2021 by Blackstone and Vista Equity Partners. Ellucian purchased financial aid software provider CampusLogic in 2022.
In June, Ipsen was named Digital Revolution Awards’ 2023 Outstanding Leader of the Year for North America and globally, and Ellucian received the EdTech Breakthrough Award for a second year in a row. The company has 2,900 customers in more than 50 countries.
A native of Milwaukee, Ipsen is a member of Daimler Truck Holding’s supervisory board and the executive committee of the Business-Higher Education Forum (BHEF).
