In April, Schleicher replaced longtime NOVEC President and CEO Stan Feuerberg, who announced he was retiring after 30 years at the company’s helm.
During those three decades, the cooperative grew “into one of the pre-eminent electric utilities in the country,” says its board chairman, Wade House. Now the company is one of the largest cooperatives in the nation. With $1.1 billion in assets and a $665 million annual operating revenue, it serves more than 177,000 metered customers.
“I am humbled, yet very excited, to lead such a dynamic and committed team,” says Schleicher, who has worked with NOVEC for five years, most recently as its chief operating officer.
His career in electric utilities, however, has spanned more than 40 years. He previously held a leadership role with EnergyUnited EMC in North Carolina, and before that, he spent 32 years at PPL Electric Utilities in Pennsylvania.
Schleicher has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University and an MBA in operations management from the University of Scranton. He is a registered professional engineer.
