A former state commerce secretary and secretary of agriculture who served under two governors, Haymore now advises multinational and national corporations interested in expanding or moving operations in Virginia. He’s particularly involved with Petersburg’s growing pharmaceutical cluster.
A Danville native, Haymore is secretary of the Virginia Commonwealth University board of visitors and serves as vice chair for the GO Virginia Region 4 Council, in addition to serving on boards for the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Virginia FREE, the Washington Airports Task Force and RVA757 Connects.
WHAT MAKES ME PASSIONATE ABOUT MY WORK: Ever since my first economic development project in 2000 with Universal Leaf Tobacco Co., the thought of turning an investment vision and plan into a working asset where new jobs and revenue opportunities are created has driven me.
