Hart, who joined Chesterfield County in 2015, marked his biggest victory in June, when the Lego Group announced it will bring a $1 billion factory to the county, expected to create 1,760 jobs in the next decade. The 1.7 million-square-foot facility, where the iconic colorful plastic bricks will be manufactured, is set to be constructed in Meadowville Technology Park.
Hart has more than 40 years of economic development experience bringing in projects from companies such as Amazon.com Inc., Capital One Financial Corp., Colonial Downs and Sabra Dipping Co.
A Virginia Tech alum, Hart is a founding member and past board member of the Virginia Economic Developers Association. He holds the International Economic Development Council’s certified economic and community developer designation.
