Since joining the Hampton Roads Chamber in 2013, Stephens has helped the organization receive the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s five-star accreditation in both 2016 and 2021, an honor that places it in the top 1% of all U.S. chambers.
Hampton Roads has a lot of projects going on and about to start, including the redevelopment of Norfolk’s Military Circle Mall, the completion of the Cavalier resort on Virginia Beach’s Oceanfront and the forthcoming casinos in Norfolk and Portsmouth. This year, the chamber took the Hampton Roads Sports Commission under its umbrella, bringing on its director, Claudell Clark, as a vice president to promote sports events in the region.
A retired U.S. Army officer, Stephens has won numerous military awards and decorations and is a graduate of West Virginia University, Golden Gate University and the U.S. Army War College.
