Alion Science and Technology Corp., a federal contractor based in McLean, won a $75 million contract for technical support to U.S. Air Force directorates, the company announced Wednesday. The contract, awarded by the Department of Defense’s Information Analysis Center, could be extended five years.

Alion will provide technical support for every fighter and bomber aircraft weapon system in the Air Force’s inventory. The company will also produce strategies for acquiring, fielding and sustaining major weapon systems and subsystems for the Air Force, the U.S. joint services and its coalition partners.

The company won a $182 million contract from the U.S. Navy on July 21 to develop a training system, among other contracts awarded by military branches.
