Marriott part of $350M expansion of The Cavalier Resort

The $125 million, 305-room Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront is now open, Virginia Beach hospitality and real estate company Gold Key | PHR announced Thursday.
The hotel, managed by Gold Key | PHR, is an addition to The Cavalier Resort, which includes the Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club, two restaurants, 25,000 square feet of event space and outdoor social space. The Historic Cavalier Hotel & Beach Club reopened in 2018 after an $85 million, four-year renovation of the 1927 resort.
Located at 4201 Atlantic Ave., the new 24-story Marriott hotel has two restaurants and multiple bars, including Orion’s Roof and Seaside Bar & Grill.
The Marriott is the second phase of a three-phase, $350 million plan to expand The Cavalier Resort. When finished, it will include 42 condominiums, the Marriott and an additional hotel. The projected completion date for the project is 2022.
