Jennifer Tisdale has been promoted to CEO of GRIMM, the Arlington-based cybersecurity firm announced Tuesday.

She was previously the firm’s senior principal of cyber-physical systems security.

“Having spent the last decade dedicated to the advocacy of cybersecurity research and testing, it is an honor to lead the strategic direction and phenomenal cybersecurity talent at GRIMM,” Tisdale said in a statement. “The people of GRIMM bring together technical problem-solving, business acumen and a passion to make this ‘connected’ world a more secure place.”

Tisdale previously served as the state of Michigan’s cyber-mobility strategist. Her work helped create the foundation for the state to band its automotive, defense and aerospace industries together with embedded systems of cybersecurity.

Tisdale resides in metro-Detroit and encourages students in K12 school districts to seek cybersecurity education.

Founded in 2013, GRIMM provides products and services including cybersecurity tools, sensors, analytics, frameworks, automated testing and consulting. In February 2020, the company announced it would invest $435,000 to establish its corporate headquarters in Stafford County.
