Amentum subsidiary secures potential $656M Navy contract

Chantilly-based , through its subsidiary Amentum Mitie Pacific, has been awarded a potential $656.36 million contract to provide base operating support services at Navy Support Facility in Diego Garcia, in the British Indian Ocean Territory.

The Department of announced the award this week. The fixed-price award-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is initially valued at $85.24 million, but has seven option years and a sixth-month extension of services option, with the potential maximum award being $656.36 million.

Work is expected to be completed in January 2034.

According to the Department of Defense, the Navy obligated about $3 million at the time of the award, which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year and will obligate $82.19 million in fiscal 2026 from various sources.

Amentum Mitie Pacific competitively won the contract against two other bidders through the Sam.gov website. The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific, located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii, is the contracting activity.

With $8.4 billion in 2024 revenue, Amentum has more than 53,000 employees in approximately 80 countries across all seven continents. The company was founded as a spinout of AECOM’s Management Services Group in 2020 and moved its headquarters from Germantown, Maryland, to in 2023.
