There’s a lot of reading going on in Alexandria and Richmond.
Both Virginia cities were named to Amazon.com’s third annual list of the Most Well-read Cities in America.
Alexandria topped the list, while Richmond came in at No. 18.
“Gone Girl,” a suspenseful thriller written by Gillian Flynn, was the best-selling book overall in Alexandria, followed by the three books in the erotic romance “Fifty Shades of Grey” series.
Amazon.com compiled the list based on sales data of all book, magazine and newspaper sales on its site in both print and Kindle format since June 1, 2012. The ranking was determined by the books sold per 100,000 residents.
Following is Amazon’s list.
