KmX Chemical Corp. plans to invest $2.08 million to expand its solvent reclamation facility in Accomack County on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
The project is expected to create 16 jobs paying wages that are above the prevailing rate for the region.
KmX’s solvent reclamation facility, which serves the mid-Atlantic region, is on a 13.5-acre site in New Church.
In 2005, KmX began developing specialty membranes for water treatment and the separation and recovery of valuable chemicals.
The company will ramp up production and R&D on new membrane technologies at the New Church facility.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Accomack County to secure the project.
Gov. Terry McAuliffe approved a $40,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund.
The company also is eligible to receive state benefits from the Virginia Enterprise Zone Program, administered by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
Funding and services to support the company’s employee training activities will be provided through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
