Plans for Reston Station, a mixed-use, transit-oriented development in Fairfax County, continue to take shape.
Comstock Partners LC, the developer of the project, on Friday announced the lease of about 10,000 square feet of space for a Founding Farmers restaurant, which will anchor the retail center in the civic plaza.
The restaurant is expected to open by late 2016.
Founding Farmers is part of the Farmers Restaurant Group, a management company, which also operates Farmers Fishers Bakers restaurants in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Comstock said it also soon will unveil plans for Urban Pop, which it described as an innovative retail concept. It will be located near the entrance to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station.
The developer said Urban Pop will include a mix of pop-up marquee spaces featuring food, fashion and lifestyle brands, as well as an outdoor piazza entertainment area.
Comstock is a privately held real estate company focusing on urban, mixed-use and transit-oriented developments in the Washington, D.C. region.
Reston Station will be the Wiehle Reston-East Metro Station, the terminus of Phase I of Metro's Silver Line.
