In 2023 and 2024, George Mason’s law school appeared in numerous articles about allegations of sexual misconduct by Joshua Wright, a tenured law professor who served on the Federal Trade Commission.

In an August 2023 email to students, Randall wrote that Wright had resigned “rather than face a termination proceeding that we were ready to start.”

The email later showed up in several news stories and was noted in a federal discrimination lawsuit Wright filed in January against Mason’s board members and the school’s assistant vice president for equity and access services, alleging violations of Title IX, due process and breach of contract.

Before coming to George Mason in 2020, Randall served as dean of the University of Alabama School of Law for two decades. A specialist in international law, Randall founded iLaw Distance Education, an online legal training platform used by approximately a quarter of the nation’s law firms. He earned his law degree at Hofstra University and two master of laws degrees from Yale and Columbia universities.
