President Obama has nominated Dana J. Boente, John P. Fishwick Jr. and Channing D. Phillips to serve as U.S. Attorneys in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
They were among six U.S. Attorney nominations announced on Thursday. The others were nominees for the South Dakota, New Hampshire and the Eastern District of New York.
Boente is the nominee for U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. He has served in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District since 2000. Boente has been acting U.S. Attorney since 2013.
Fishwick is the nominee for U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia. He has been a partner in the Virginia law firm of LichtensteinFishwick PLC and its predecessor firms since 1996, where he practices civil and criminal litigation.
Phillips is the nominee for United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. He has served as senior counselor and deputy assistant associate general in the Office of the Attorney General in the United States Department of Justice since 2010.
