The Roanoke-based architecture firm SFCS has completed a merger with Kidwell Engineering and Design Inc. in Louisville, Ky..
Kidwell’s 11 employees have joined SFCS, which now has 115 employees.
The firms have worked together on more than 30 projects.
Louisville is the SFCS’ fourth location. In addition to Roanoke, it has offices in Charlotte and Philadelphia.
SFCS said the merger will provide clients a full range of architecture and engineering services, including design, planning, engineering, plumbing, fire protection and interior design.
“After working together on numerous projects, it became apparent that Kidwell Engineering was the perfect partner and Louisville was the perfect place to expand,” Tye Campbell, the CEO of SFCS, said in a statement. “
Founded in 2012, Kidwell has provided engineering and project management services to companies such as UPS, CSX Transportation, Toyota, Humana, the State of Kentucky, and the Department of Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Started in 1920, SFCS is a senior living, education and civic/public architecture, engineering and interior design firm.
