Richmond-based insurance agency The Hilb Group has acquired Texas-based Walker Myers Insurance & Risk Management LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The transaction became effective on June 1.


Walker Myers offers insurance and consulting services in the areas of commercial insurance, transportation, employee benefits and personal insurance services.


The acquisition is The Hilb Group’s fourth in 2015 and its first in Texas. Walker Myers has offices in Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Corpus Christi.


The Hilb Group is a middle-market insurance agency headquartered in Richmond. The company has 29 offices in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
