HemoShear, a Charlottesville-based biotechnology company, has named Vincent E. Aurentz as its president.
Aurentz, the company’s chief business officer, has been with HemoShear since July 2013.
In his new role, Aurentz will lead HemoShear's scientific and business development strategies, public relations and marketing, in addition to his existing business development responsibilities.
Aurentz has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. He spent almost nine years with Merck KGaA and Merck Serono where he was an executive vice president and head of global business development. He also was recently executive vice president at Quintiles.
Aurentz will continue to report to HemoShear’s CEO and Chairman Jim Powers, and will also join the company's board of managers.
