Commonwealth Assisted Living hires five senior-level employees

Charlottesville-based Commonwealth Assisted Living has hired several senior-level employees.

The company operates 21 senior-living communities throughout Virginia.

The new employees include:.

Bernadette Cavis, vice president of resident programs. Cavis was president of Memory Care Methods in Florida where she provided dementia care consulting services to assisted living companies.

Ed Corbeil, vice president of operations. He comes to the company from Blue Harbor Senior Living where he was the regional director of operations overseeing the leadership of multiple assisted living properties in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Florida.

Erika Gennari, director of marketing and communications. She was marketing coordinator for the Charlottesville Free Clinic.

Paula Harder, regional director of resident programs. She was director of recreational therapy, volunteer coordinator, and LEAN trainer at Bayshore Healthcare Center in Minnesota.

Ashley Showalter, vice president of risk management. She previously worked for W.D. Campbell Insurance as a commercial risk advisor.
