GSS Gear to relocate corporate headquarters in Virginia Beach

​ Global Supply Solutions LLC (GSS Gear) will relocate its corporate headquarters and retail operations to 2037 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach. The new location (formerly Shaia Carpets) offers 10,000 square feet and a showroom. GSS Gear said it would invest more than $2.2 million in real estate, building improvements and business property in the new location.

The company, a supplier of tactical and outdoor gear to federal agencies, emergency medical services, firefighters and law enforcement agencies across the country, is one the largest specialty retail outlets of its kind on the East Coast. It’s currently located at 1569 Diamond Springs Road at the beach.

“We are pleased to retain this business in Virginia Beach,” Warren D. Harris, director of Virginia Beach Economic Development, said in a statement. “The location is ideal for GSS Gear with the proximity to the largest military installations in the world.”

The Virginia Beach Development Authority has approved an Economic Development Incentive Program grant of $30,000 based on the company’s capital investment.

GSS Gear was founded in 2004. It is a woman-owned, small business. What started in a 500-square-foot office in Virginia Beach has grown into a company with multiple retail stores and warehouses.  In addition to Virginia Beach, the company has a retail location in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. 

For the past 11 years, one of its biggest clients as been the U. S.  Department of Defense.  GSS Gear represents more than 1,400 manufacturers of military, tactical and outdoor/adventure gear.
