In January, Thomas was named executive managing director and brokerage market leader for Virginia, a position that gives him oversight for about 60 brokers as well as all brokerage operations, recruitment, retention and business development in Norfolk, Richmond and Charlottesville. A Richmond native, Thomas replaced J. Scott Adams, who jumped to Harbor Group International in April as its senior vice president in investor relations.
A Virginia Commonwealth University graduate, Thomas has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate and came to Colliers from Commonwealth Commercial Partners. He was previously managing partner for GVA Advantis, overseeing regional brokerage operations. He is currently president of the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE).
In January, Colliers was named the leasing and management company for City Center at Oyster Point in Newport News, and the firm will handle marketing and leasing and facility management services at three Chesterfield County distribution centers, which were purchased for $105.6 million in March.
