Reed joined Gilbane in 2003, after graduating from Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), where she was a two-time All-American in women’s rugby. One of the construction company’s youngest vice presidents, she has managed over $1 billion in contracts during her career so far.
A registered architect, Reed is responsible for driving sales and supervising more than 70 employees. The company was selected last fall to perform construction management services for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ upcoming 170,000-square-foot expansion.
In addition to her work duties, Reed has helped Gilbane reach out to the community through the ACE Mentor Program of America, a free afterschool program designed to attract high school students into pursuing careers in architecture, construction and engineering, including skilled trades. She is also a mentor in the Women in Construction Conference.
HOW I UNWIND FROM WORK: Different days call for different unwinds. I love to work out, spend time outdoors, read, go to concerts, explore and travel, but sometimes it’s just a glass of wine and my front porch swing.
