Federal Contractors | Technology 2023: TIMOTHY J. McBRIDE

Named president of ST Engineering North America in October 2021, McBride brings 30-plus years of experience at multinational public companies and government agencies to the role.

Singapore Technologies Engineering, or ST Engineering, is a $9 billion global technology and engineering group with businesses across the aerospace, smart city, defense and public security industries. Its U.S. operations, spanning more than 52 cities across 21 states, account for a quarter of its revenue.

McBride previously was senior vice president of global government relations at Raytheon Technologies (now RTX). Before that, he was senior vice president of government relations for United Technologies until it merged with Raytheon. He also was a senior vice president for Freddie Mac.

McBride started his career in the White House as a special assistant to the then-vice president and future president, George H.W. Bush. He held several positions in Bush’s presidential administration before switching to the corporate world, where he worked in leadership roles for Sunoco and DaimlerChrysler.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University and is co-founder and vice president of Ayenda Foundation, a U.S.-based nonprofit focused on aiding Afghan children.
