PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER, CARAHSOFT TECHNOLOGY, RESTON
Virginia Business// August 30, 2023//
As president of Carahsoft, the privately owned IT and cybersecurity solutions provider, Abod prefers staying out of the media spotlight. It’s enough that everyone in the government contracting industry knows him.
A University of Maryland alumnus who founded Carahsoft in 2004, Abod previously worked for DLT Solutions and Falcon Systems.
Carahsoft landed at No. 47 on Forbes’ 2022 list of the nation’s largest private companies, with $9.92 billion in revenue. The company is one of two firms modernizing federal payroll services under a U.S. General Services Administration contract, and in July, Carahsoft announced it would market Palantir Technologies’ software management platform, Apollo, to the public sector through its GSA and NASA contract vehicles. In 2022, the company partnered with several tech companies to offer their platforms and services to federal customers, particularly for cybersecurity solutions.
Carahsoft is sometimes termed a “boutique” reseller, selling a limited number of products, addressing specific needs in the market. About 1,300 of its more than 2,200 employees are based in Virginia. In January, Abod was named for the ninth time to Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 List of the top government contracting executives.
