Polymer Solutions, a Virginia-based materials-testing company, has moved its operations to a new facility in Christiansburg.
Polymer Solutions said the $2.9 million dollar building in the Falling Branch Corporate Park was built to suit the company’s needs.
The facility has two labs, one for each of the company's biggest departments. Each lab functions as a centralized location at which employees can store and access their testing equipment.
Because its testing instrumentation is so sensitive, the company said its labs need to be able to maintain precise environmental conditions to ensure accurate results
Each lab has centralized climate controls that can maintain temperature and humidity levels to guarantee a precise testing environment.
The company expects to build an additional 10,000 square feet of lab space, as more personnel and testing capabilities come on board.
Founded in a garage in 1987, Polymer Solutions uses advanced techniques such as chromatography, metals testing, microscopy, spectroscopy, wet chemistry, titrations, liquid chromatography and gas chromatography to handle issues such as material identification, toxicity evaluations, and chemical migration.
