Carol Beth Buchanan has been named president of The Main Street Group in Glen Allen.
The Main Street Group is an independent financial services firm offering estate planning, investment advisory and wealth management services. In addition to the Richmond area, the firm has offices in Lexington, Lynchburg, Fairfax and Williamsburg in Virginia and Pawleys Island, S.C.
Buchanan has been with the firm for five years.
In her new role, she will take on more supervisory responsibilities, allowing CEO Steve Crawford and the firm's 16 advisers to focus on research and client interaction. Buchanan’s oversight will include long-term planning, marketing, compliance and recruiting.
Buchanan received an undergraduate degree from The College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in business administration from University of Richmond.
Until 1993, she worked for Ukrop’s Super Markets, becoming director of marketing. She managed Buchanan Marketing Services until 2000, when she earned her real estate license with Long and Foster.
