Thomas F. Cherry has been promoted to president of West Point-based C&F Financial Corp. and C&F Bank.
Cherry will continue as CFO until a successor is named.
Board Chairman Larry Dillon will remain chairman and CEO of C&F and C&F Bank.
“C&F's health and longevity are of the utmost importance to me, and one way we can help assure the company's long-term future is to have a good succession plan in place that transitions over time to a new top executive officer,” Dillon said in a statement.
Cherry, 45, has been with C&F for 18 years. He has served as CFO and executive vice president since December 2004.
Cherry is a CPA and has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and an MBA from the College of William & Mary.
