A personal injury litigator, Grana leads the Virginia State Bar for the 2022-23 term. She is the first Hispanic person and seventh woman to head the 84-year-old organization that comprises 50,000 attorneys. Her goals for her term include increasing diversity among the board’s leadership, recognizing bias and working with judges to enhance “bench/bar relations.”

During her nearly 30-year legal career, the University of Richmond alumna has won more than 50 cases related to brain and personal injuries, medical malpractice, sexual abuse and wrongful deaths. Her secret: hard work and preparation. “I may not be the smartest lawyer in the courtroom,” she said in a Richmond Law alumni newsletter, “but I will always be the best prepared.”

She is a past president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association; the American Board of Trial Advocates-Virginia Chapter; Lewis F. Powell Jr. American Inns of Court;  and the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association.
