Reston-based Science Applications International Corp. on Thursday announced it has been awarded a $163 million Navy contract to maintain enterprise networks for shore-based commands and support command and control of the services’ deployed units.

The work includes design, development, integration, modernization and life cycle support as well as network components and service solutions. Work will be performed at the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific Shore Networks Branch in San Diego.

“SAIC is honored to build on our work supporting the U.S. Navy and NIWC Pacific,” Bob Genter, president of SAIC’s defense and civilian sector, said in a statement. “We are focused on delivering valuable support and solutions to a range of U.S. Navy network challenges and initiatives.”

NIWC Pacific provides technological and engineering support critical to information warfare for the U.S. Navy, as well as for the Marine Corps, Air Force, Army and Coast Guard. Systems development and support includes basic research and prototype development through systems engineering, and integration to life cycle support of fielded systems, SAIC said in a news release.

SAIC, a Fortune 500 company, employs more than 25,000 people and reported $7.4 billion in revenue in fiscal 2022.
