Finance/Insurance: JEFF WRIGHT

With nearly two decades of experience in the insurance industry, Wright was promoted in February to CEO of Allianz Partners USA, a travel insurance and assistance company. He replaces Elena Edwards, who was promoted to chief markets officer at parent company Allianz Partners Group. Allianz has more than 19,000 workers globally, with about 800 associates in Virginia.

Wright previously served as chief financial officer of Allianz Partners USA. In that role, he was responsible for implementing the financial business strategy for the Global Travel line of business and the U.S. and Canadian business units.

Earlier in his career, Wright worked at Fortune 500 insurer Genworth Financial Inc. as chief financial officer for the U.S. life insurance division, which had over $80 billion in assets and boasted $4 billion in annual revenue. Wright received his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Richmond and an MBA from the University of Maryland. He enjoys traveling in a 25-foot recreational vehicle with his wife and two kids.

In June, JetBlue Travel Products announced a multiyear partnership extension with Allianz Partners USA, reaffirming Allianz’s status as JetBlue’s official travel insurance provider.
